The mission of Grupo Fenix is to contribute to the wellbeing of rural communities, creating an awareness of sustainable lifestyles through technical and cultural exchange, promotion, and research in the field of renewable energy.

Grupo Fenix is a program of PFAE, a renewable energy group located at the National Engineering University in Managua, Nicaragua.

  1. Participate in a Grupo Fenix course. Two hundred dollars of the course fee will go to subsidize Fenix photovoltaic systems installed in the villages, and an additional $100 will go to improvement funds in the barrio and villages.  In addition, you will have an unforgettable experience.

  2. Send a Donation. If your employer makes matching gifts, ask your employer to match your donation. Please mail your check to:  Skyheat Associates, Inc., 17 Rockwell Road SE, Jonesport, ME  04649

  3. Tell other people about our work and our trips. We can send you some brochures and newsletters to pass along to friends who are interested in our projects.

  4. Ask a group with which you are affiliated to make a commitment to fund a village project. We welcome churches, Rotary Clubs, school classes, employee associations, and other groups to adopt a village and do a fundraiser. Your contribution will enable the village to use solar energy solutions.  We will provide information about the village, with photos, on our web site.

  5. Tell us about funding sources you know of, to which we can submit a proposal for specific projects or needs. Our supporters have put us in touch with community foundations, religious funding sources, granting organizations, etc., which have eventually made a grant to Grupo Fenix after we have submitted the required information and request.
